Gore retains its title as Scotland’s ‘best company to work for’

Workwear manufacturer Gore & Associates (UK) Ltd has been named as the best company to work for in Scotland for the eighth year in a row by The Sunday Times.

The company, which is best known for manufacturing the GORE–Tex fabric, was the highest placed Scottish firm in The Sunday Times Best 100 Companies to work for list, which was published on 6 March. A record 912 companies competed to be listed and Gore was named the 13th best company to work for in the whole of the UK. It also featured in the overall top five categories for least board at work; most stimulating place to work; best for personal growth, proud to be here; and love working for the company.

The list is based on a wide range of factors from employee satisfaction and well-being to company policy on a wide range of benefits. Gore UK associate, Bob Doak, believes the continued success of the company on The Sunday Times list can be attributed to its unique company culture. He said: “Gore’s continued presence high up on the Best Companies list is testament not only to our famous unique leadership structure but also to the commitment and dedication of our associates who, every day, live and breathe the values that make Gore a great place to work.”

Livingston-based associate, Justin King, added: “At Gore, you quickly learn what it means to be a genuine team player. Many companies claim to foster team spirit, but at Gore your contribution is rated not by an individual, but by your immediate team.”
