The company says that items such as valves and flanges, pipes and pumps, and even fasteners need to be made of the correct material, and that substituting them for the wrong material could jeopardise the integrity of the plant installation.

Also included is a discussion of the role of handheld XRF instruments in PMI testing, including the need for suitable operator training.
