Five men seriously injured in helicopter crash
The Air Accident Investigation Branch is beginning investigations, after five people were seriously injured in a helicopter crash in Breighton, East Yorkshire yesterday evening (17 July).
Humberside Police were called to the scene at the side of the runway at Breighton airport near Selby just after 6pm.
A force spokesman said the injuries were serious but were not thought to be life-threatening.
All five men were taken to hospital – two by air ambulance. It is thought they have suffered various head, back, chest and leg injuries.
A spokesman for the force said: “Numerous emergency services were in attendance.
“The Air Accidents Investigation Branch will be leading the investigation to establish what caused the crash.”
