Connaught rebrands safety arm
Health and safety risk management firm Connaught Compliance has begun its rebranding process and will now be known as Santia.
The name change comes three months after the firm’s parent company Connaught plc entered administration.
However, despite the wider group’s problems, the Connaught Compliance business has remained out of administration and says it has continued to perform strongly.
The operation employs 1300 staff at 24 locations in the UK and offers a wide range of risk management and compliance services, including consultancy, training, auditing, reporting, inspection, testing and maintenance.
Other parts of Connaught plc’s business continue to be sold off by administrator KPMG. In September, Connaught Compliance Ltd sold its gas and electrical safety-services businesses to Centrica plc for £11.2 million. A few days later Connaught Partnerships Ltd, which provides maintenance services to social housing associations, announced the sale of the majority of the company’s contracts and related assets to Lovell Partnerships.
Santia chief executive, Ian Carlisle, believes that the rebranding is a necessary step following the uncertainty surrounding the Connaught brand. He said: “This name change is an important step for our business as we have emerged from a difficult period but this investment sends a clear message: the outlook for Santia remains positive. We are in a strong position, fully supported by our lenders, and determined to continue providing our customers with outstanding service now and in the future.
“The Santia brand will be shared by all the health and safety core business units within Connaught Compliance, to reflect the fact that within a single business our customers can select from a broad menu of services to enjoy bespoke health and safety solutions that benefit from our depth of experience and are tailored as appropriate to be right for them.”
