BBC and British architects join forces to make construction safety films
Production company SquaredCircle, has been commissioned to produce the films to help architects understand health and safety, and how to integrate good practice in their designs.
Each DVD will feature a different part of the building process. The individual film titles planned are as follows:
1 Company Compliance
2 Roofs
3 Elevations inc. Windows
4 Refurbishment & Alterations
5 Building Services
6 New-build Housing
7 Erection of Structures
It is hoped that the DVDs will be widely used for internal training in small and large design companies and universities around the UK.
The first film will be available on DVD, and will be launched at the BBC, Portland Place, London on 7 April. The event has been timed to mark the first anniversary of the CDM Regulations 2007.
