AXA appoints new Mental Health Lead
AXA PPP healthcare has appointed Eugene Farrell as Mental Health Lead for its large corporate business.
Mr Farrell has more than 30 years of insight and experience in the UK healthcare arena and was most recently AXA PPP’s Head of Trauma Support.
He will leading the company’s workplace mental health strategy, and help develop treatment pathways and employee assistance programmes, client communications and industry advocacy to raise awareness and understanding of workplace mental health issues.
“Workplace mental health is a vital business issue and I look forward to helping employers address it by building strong positive workplace cultures that challenge the stigma associated with mental ill health and enable employees to deal more effectively with the pressures in their lives,” said Mr Farrell.
Mr Farrell will report to AXA PPP healthcare’s Head of Corporate Sales & Strategic Accounts, Soraya Chamberlain.
“Eugene’s role evidences our continuing commitment to supporting employers to manage mental health at work. He has a wealth of knowledge and experience and an excellent understanding of how to work effectively in the corporate healthcare market,” said Ms Chamberlain.
AXA PPP healthcare has also urged employers to let staff take part in National Fitness Day, which takes place next month, on 26 September.
The healthcare company has called on bosses to push back the start of the working day by an hour on 26 September to allow staff to get some exercise as it launched the workplace element of the National Fitness Day, called Flying Start.
