App offers customers the ability to manage hire-purchase

Equipment-hire specialist A-Plant has launched a free iPhone app that allows its customers to view account and equipment information whenever they wish.

The A-Plant App has been road-tested by customers to manage their hire process in real time, allowing them to on-hire and off-hire as they require. Customers can also track their hired equipment through their iPhone, via a facility called A-Trak; by entering the item’s asset number and using GPRS satellite tracking, they can monitor live information on the location of their hired equipment.

A-Plant IT director Andy Wortley said: “One of the main competitive advantages the app gives us is that no other app in the industry has the expertise and technology behind it to do what the A-Plant app can do.

“It’s not just in the asset management side where it excels; customers with an extranet login can review live hire reports, obtain copy invoices, make transactions and browse the full range of A-Plant’s equipment – complete with the facility to download individual spec sheets on products.”

A-Plant says the app has already been well received by customers. Andy continued: “The app also boasts all the standard features, which don’t require a login, that iPhone users will be familiar with – including company information, location finder, contact form, product information – but it also offers a credit application form and the ability to request and confirm quotes.”
