As part of The Access Group, Safety Media will further strengthen its position in the Digital Learning space, especially in the Health, Safety and Compliance sector.

Customers were able to see the full scale of the acquisition at Access World 2019 in November.

Claire Williams, Marketing Director of Safety Media spoke to SHP about the acquisition and what it means: “Safety Media is an organisation and a platform that has enjoyed superb growth over the last 25 years. Customers have benefited from industry leading improvements to health and safety software integrations and it became clear to the board that in order to grow and continue to serve those customers in the manner to which they had become accustomed, that we needed to look at joining forces with a larger software group.

“It was actually at Access World 2018 that Access first came onto the radar of the Safety Media board and it soon became very clear that this would be a mutually beneficial fit for both organisations.

“As a Top 20 UK Software firm, the Access Group offers a wide range of business software solutions.  They chose to partner with Safety Media as the best in class option for adding health and safety software options to their portfolio.”

Chris Chappell has worked at Safety Media for over 13 years and has an in-depth knowledge of the product, customers and potential the solution has to offer. He is now leading the Access Health and Safety solution as General Manager and had this to say about the future of the industry: “This is a really exciting time for health and safety software. The fact the importance of it has been recognised by a giant such as the Access Group simply cements the digital future of the industry. Rightly or wrongly, time and cost efficiencies are at the forefront of the majority of business purchasing decisions and we are in a position where we can offer both of those things alongside the benefit of creating a safer al- round working environment.

“The team at Safety Media continue to be committed to delivering excellent customer service and top-quality products and the transition to Access Health and Safety allows us to expand our reach across the mid-market in the UK and beyond.”

The team at Safety Media are working with the developers at Access Group to integrate their current solution into the Access Workspace platform which will allow users to take advantage of app technology and run training and compliance tasks alongside other business activities such as booking holiday, completing expenses and managing teams effectively.

Remaining in St Asaph the foundations at Safety Media remain sturdy and the growth potential offered by the integration with the Access Group simply cements the future of the organisation as a market leader in the provision of health and safety software solutions.

5 rules for effective incident reporting

Incident reporting is essential. No matter what steps are taken, training is given and precautions are taken, there will always be an element of accidents and incidents that occur in any environment. Whether it be tripping, slipping, dropping things, scratching cars, stubbing toes, falling from a height, being hit by an opening door, TVs falling off walls…things happen.
