A child has died after reportedly falling into a hole on a building site in Glasgow.
A 10-year-old boy has died after reportedly falling into a hole on a building site in Glasgow. Emergency services were called to the site Drumchapel, near Glenkirk Drive just before 10pm on Thursday 16 July 2020.
Police Scotland confirmed in a statement: “Emergency services attended, and the 10-year-old boy was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where he died a short time later.
“Police enquiries are continuing to establish the exact circumstances surrounding this incident; however, the death is not being treated as suspicious.
“Health and Safety Executive has been informed.”
The HSE has confirmed it is aware of the incident and is assisting police with their inquiries.
