Kestrel is said to offer a full range of weather meters with the ability to measure many factors affecting the work environment, including wind/air speed; air flow; wind direction; barometric pressure; altitude; temperature; relative humidity; wet bulb temperature; heat index; and wind chill. The meters are said to be fully waterproof and have a large, backlit display.
Some Kestrel meters also offer data-logging capability – a function the distributor describes as useful when responding to spills of hazardous materials, construction activities, and outdoor tasks, such as abrasive blasting.
The 4000 range of meters now comes with Bluetooth wireless capability, so that data can be transferred wirelessly to a laptop or PDA.
