New guidance for transporting chemicals

The guidelines have been endorsed by the HSE and aim to complement the Department for Transport’s code of practice, which sets basic standards for load stowage and security.

The CBA’s guidelines outline the legal duties that need to be followed in ordered to safely secure loads, such as weight distribution, segregation, and securing methods for different types of packaged goods. They also stress the importance of effective induction and refresher training for staff in loading, unloading, and risk assessment procedures.€
