Survey on best practice in managing health problems at work
The Health and Safety Laboratory is currently seeking views on managing common health problems in the workplace to identify the types of support and guidance needed in this area.
The “common” problems highlighted by the HSL include physical complaints, such as muscle and joint pain, mental-health problems, stress, and others linked to sickness absence, health-related benefit claims, and reduced productivity.
The HSL is inviting those who actively manage health issues at work, as well as experts in research or policy in this field, to take part in a 10-question online survey, the responses to which will be treated in the strictest confidence. The survey is part of a HSE-funded project to develop guidance and a toolkit to minimise the occurrence of and manage common health problems at work.
To access the survey, click here. Responses must be received by 10 July.
What makes us susceptible to burnout?
In this episode of the Safety & Health Podcast, ‘Burnout, stress and being human’, Heather Beach is joined by Stacy Thomson to discuss burnout, perfectionism and how to deal with burnout as an individual, as management and as an organisation.
We provide an insight on how to tackle burnout and why mental health is such a taboo subject, particularly in the workplace.
