Institute of Refrigeration releases guide to health and safety responsibilities in the workplace
The Institute of Refrigeration has published a short guide to employer health and safety responsibilities in the workplace. The guidance is based on advice currently provided by HSE.
It reiterates that all workers have a right to work in places where risks to their health and safety are properly controlled.
In summary, employers must:
Workers are required to co-operate with the employer on carrying out the employer’s duties. Failure to do so could lead to disciplinary action, and even prosecution under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
