CDM training specialist goes from strength to strength

Turnover at Innov8 Safety Solutions was up 40 per cent in 2010, the Merseyside-based company reports.

It offers bespoke Construction Design Management (CDM), site safety and management and specialist bespoke training, working with clients as an independent consultant to deliver what it describes as practical and cost-effective safety solutions and identifying potential risks as early in the design stage as possible.

During 2010, Innov8 says it strengthened its experience in a wide variety of sectors, including health, education, maritime, commercial and retail, and won contracts from a number of prestigious organisations, including Peel Ports, Manchester Grammar School, Neptune Developments, Waitrose and Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Trust.

Innov8 managing director Alan Robson said: “As firms become more aware of health and safety laws there is a growing need for our services. Although it is a legal requirement, CDM is often seen as a tick in the box and a paper chase, adding no real value to clients’ projects. However, early appointment and professional competent CDM co-ordinators can offer tangible commercial benefits and real value.”

Innov8, which also has an office in Manchester, was launched in 2007 and plans to double its revenue, from £325,000 to £650,000, in 2011.
