ISS becomes Wellbeing Champion with Business in the Community

ISS says it has emphasised its commitment to employee health and wellbeing by taking on a new role as a Wellbeing Champion with Business in the Community (BITC), the responsible business network which is part of The Prince’s Charities, a group of not-for-profit organisations of which HRH The Prince of Wales is the Royal Founding Patron.

As part of its Corporate Responsibility strategy – ThinkForward@ISS – ISS says it has a clear commitment around innovation to support safety, health and wellbeing in workplaces. To this end, it has launched its new Health and Wellbeing Policy for employees. The ISS Health and Wellbeing policy focuses on eight key areas including mental health, physical activity and others that will form the basis of the new health and wellbeing approach.

The Wellbeing@ISS strategy aims to direct ISS to really focus on caring for its employees by ensuring that the workplace is as healthy as it can be and by empowering its employees to make healthy choices and to support each other in doing so.

Matthew Brabin CEO, ISS UK & Ireland commented: “I’m delighted that we at ISS are taking this step to be a Wellbeing Champion as part of the BITC programme. It’s important to us to be a socially responsible company and having a positive impact on the communities in which we work. It’s important that we set time aside to also focus on mental health and wellbeing and the impact on our people.”

Tim Proctor, Director of HSEQ & CR, ISS UK added: “We are very proud to collaborate with our corporate peers, share good practice and further strengthen our  new health and wellbeing approach. In becoming a BITC Wellbeing Champion ISS is delighted to publically support the BITC Wellbeing campaign.”

Louise Aston, Wellbeing at Work Director, Business in the Community stated: “Only a third of UK employees are actively engaged at work and levels of stress and mental illness are rising. Business in the Community’s members understand the economic impact of these challenges. We work with employers to proactively support them in improving their employee wellbeing and engagement.”
