Wiseup2work is a winner
IOSH picked up a Good Practice Award from the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work for the Wiseup2work resource launched in May 2006.
Wiseup2work is a free interactive online resource that helps teachers, youth workers and employers prepare teenagers for work. It’s sponsored by the Learning and Skills Council, and supported by the British Chambers of Commerce and the National Youth Agency.
IOSH is one of eight organisations to win an award, presented at the European Agency Safe Start Summit in Bilbao.
Neil Budworth, IOSH immediate past president collected the award: “This is a great testament to all the hard work that has gone into Wiseup2work and our campaign focusing on young people. We’ve made great progress in getting our message across to teenagers, and I hope we continue to see the results of our lobbying and campaigning throughout the next year.”
IOSH member Eve Codling and her colleague Lindy Swalwell also picked up a commended award for East Riding of Yorkshire Council and Humber Education Business Link. Eve said: “We produced a DVD so that schools across the Humber region have a standardised approach to training their students before they start work experience.” For more information email [email protected]
