The final piece of the jigsaw
The pieces of the public sector health and safety jigsaw will all come together at this year’s National Safety Symposium.
This year’s symposium, to be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Nottingham, includes a new feature — Smart Networking — which will take place on Sunday, 2 September. This will involve IOSH members holding a surgery on a particular health and safety topic, where other members can ask them for advice on their chosen specialist topic.
Speakers already confirmed for the Symposium, which takes place on 3-4 September, include:
– Kate Beavan-Marks, from the University of East London, on the five-step health and safety model;
– Neil Budworth, from Eon-UK, on achieving a good safety culture;
– Steve Kelly, from Glasgow City Council, who will talk about the Zurich Municipal Award-winning ‘Maximising Attendance’ project; and
– Jenny Foley, who will speak on stress.
The evening of 3 September will also see the winners of this year’s ZM Awards receive their prizes. Up for grabs will be the prestigious ZM Supreme Safety Award, the ZM Trophy, and Certificates of Merit.
For more information, or to express your interest in attending, please contact Colette Walley or Nick Wale on 0116 257 3166 or 0116 257 3231. Alternatively, email Colette at [email protected]
