Merseyside Branch- Raising standards
The Merseyside Branch had its highest-ever attendance at the September meeting, where Chris Wilde from the British Standards Institution talked about ‘Occupational health and safety management standards’.
A total of 96 members and guests heard about the benefits to business of obtaining BS8800 certification and how all management systems are essentially based on Plan-Do-Check-Act model.
At the end of the meeting there was just time for current branch chair, Lisa Fowlie, to present an engraved miner’s safety lamp to retired branch treasurer, Ray Gosling, as a token of appreciation for his work on the executive committee.
