If you want to help shape the future of IOSH, why not apply for one of the vacancies on the Board of Trustees and standing committees.
The Board of Trustees has vacancies for members of all categories, from affiliate to chartered fellow. Ideally, you’ll have experience as a senior manager at a strategic level, and have knowledge of marketing, brand development, setting and managing financial budgets, and legal issues. As a Trustee, you can contribute to IOSH’s development and our vision of a safe, healthy and sustainable world of work. You’ll need to be able to attend about eight meetings a year and also have time to read and prepare documents for each meeting.
Closing date for trustee applications is 10 May 2007. Interviews for trustees will be held by the Nominations Committee on 5 June 2007.
We are also looking for a member for the Risk Management and Audit Committee who has experience of audit programmes and analysing financial accounts. You’ll need to attend four committee meetings a year and also have time to read and prepare documents for each meeting. Members of this committee are not allowed to sit on any other standing committee.
If you’re a chartered member, you can apply for the position of Professional Committee Chair. You’ll need to be able to demonstrate significant experience of chairing meetings and of CPD schemes, IPD schemes, or occupational safety and health syllabi and qualifications. As Professional Committee Chair, you’ll need to attend about four committee meetings, two Council of Management meetings, and the occasional Board of Trustees meeting each year at our office in Leicester. You’ll also need to read and prepare documents for each meeting.
All the positions are voluntary, although reasonable expenses are paid.
The closing date for the Risk Management and Audit Committee and the position of Professional Committee Chair is 19 April 2007. Interviews will be held by the Nominations Committee on 11 May 2007. Because our interviewers are also volunteers, it’s not possible for us to offer alternative interview dates.
