IOSH to introduce vice-presidents
From February, the Institution is set to introduce a team of vice-presidents to assist the Presidential Team — comprising the president, president-elect and immediate past-president — with their duties.
The move follows a recommendation from the Presidential Election Working Party. Being a vice-president would allow anyone considering standing as president a chance to gain experience of what the role involves.
To be eligible to stand as a VP, candidates must be chartered members serving on an IOSH committee, or be chartered fellows. VPs would become members of Council. The first group will be appointed at the Council meeting in February 2009.
