IOSH conference: safety advisor spells out journey to risk elimination
To truly manage risks across diverse operations and cultures on a global basis, a comprehensive approach is needed, which creates a culture that embraces the principles of risk reduction.
Speaking in track C from 14.35, Joe Wolfsberger, senior advisor at FDR Safety, will explain how health and safety professionals need to pass through three doors – awareness, process and values – to achieve this desired culture.
Mr Wolfsberger will explain that originally health and safety professionals focused on creating a set of corporate standards that were applied to their operations worldwide and then audited their sites’ performance against those standards.
But, as Mr Wolfsberger will argue, auditing is just one element of managing risks on a global basis. In a world that is continuously changing the variables, for example, employee turnover, new regulations and available resources, the target of a risk elimination culture becomes a never-ending journey.
The FDR Safety’s senior advisor will outline the three doors to achieving risk elimination and the strategic initiatives that support them.
Joe Wolfsberger will be presenting in track C in the IOSH conference from 14.35
