IOSH 10 conference- Be in the know
If you want to find out what developments and initiatives your professional body is involved in, a visit to the IOSH stand at the IOSH 10 Conference and Exhibition is an excellent place to start.
The IOSH stand will again be the focal point of the exhibition hall, where members of IOSH staff will be on hand to greet you. So, come along and see if we can help answer any questions you have. Here’s what you’ll be able to find out about:
Training for employees
Do you want to develop your own health and safety awareness training course, or have you already developed one? If you’d like the added credibility of IOSH approval then you may be interested in our Tailored course approval service.
Many trainers deliver health and safety awareness courses they’ve developed themselves. Others want to develop a course for a specific industry, or company. We approve general health and safety awareness training courses for people at work, up to level 2 on the UK national qualification framework, i.e. NVQ2 or GCSE. Our Tailored course approval service helps you develop an IOSH approved course that suits your clients, delegates, or employees.
You can also find out how to go about developing your own course, and pick up new information packs telling you all you need to know about the Tailored course approval service and how to make best use of it.
There’s plenty of opportunity to find out more about the Managing safely and Working safely training courses. These will be demonstrated on the stand, so you can see the games, quizzes and other interactive learning techniques in action. You’ll also get to find out why 100 per cent of delegates would recommend the Managing safely course to their colleagues.
If you are responsible for training employees, or have a one-off project you’d like our help with — even if it’s something out of the ordinary — we can help. We work with many organisations in different ways — we audit e-learning programmes, issue passports, provide a helpdesk, and keep your training records. Whatever your requirements, come and talk to us.
Guides: ‘Working well’
Find out more about IOSH’s new technical guides, tools, and how to make the most of the development fund by speaking to members of the Policy and Technical team.
They will have copies of IOSH’s guides, including the new ‘Working well — guidance on promoting health and well being at work’, and research summary reports to take away free of charge. You can also learn about how you can make use of the Occupational Health Toolkit, Research Database and Risk Assessment Routefinder. If you’ve got suggestions on how to improve IOSH’s tools, then please feel free to share them with the team.
Staff will be on hand to tell you about the IOSH Research and Development Fund, and how you can access it. The development fund exists to bring members’ innovative ideas that support the IOSH vision to life.
You can also discover more information about ongoing research projects, and other initiatives that IOSH is involved with.
