Influence the future of your professional body

Make a difference to the future of IOSH and contribute to making the world of work a safer place — apply for a position with IOSH’s Board of Trustees and standing committees. Vacancies are open to all categories of membership.

The Board of Trustees is looking for volunteers who have experience as a senior manager at a strategic level, have knowledge of marketing, brand development, setting and managing financial budgets and legal issues. As a trustee, you can contribute to IOSH’s development and our vision of a safe, healthy and sustainable world of work. You’ll need time to read and prepare documents for meetings, and you’ll be required to attend about eight meetings a year.

We are also looking for a volunteer for the Risk Management and Audit Committee with experience of audit programmes and analysing financial accounts. You’ll need to attend four committee meetings a year and also have time to read and prepare documents for each meeting. Members of this committee are not allowed to sit on any other standing committee. The Commercial Committee is also looking for volunteers who have experience of developing and implementing commercial business strategies. Joining this committee gives you the chance to contribute to IOSH’s commercial strategy and the continued success of our commercial venture.

Although all posts are voluntary, reasonable expenses are paid. The closing date for all applications is 24 April, with interviews to be held by the Nominations Committee on 3 June. Because our interviewers are also volunteers, it’s not possible for us to offer alternative interview dates.

For more information, or an application form, please contact Laura Ostah, governance recruitment co-ordinator, at [email protected] or on 0116 257 3190. Later this year the Nominations Committee will also be inviting applications for other key committee positions, and interview dates have been scheduled for 1 and 8 October 2008.
