Food and drink conference- Getting the message across
Ways of getting health and safety messages across to different audiences will be explored at this year’s Food and Drink Conference.
Organised by the IOSH Food and Drink Group, with support from HSE’s Agriculture and Food sector and the Food and Drink Manufacture Health and Safety Forum, the conference brings together professionals from across Europe to learn and share best practice, and gain an insight into new initiatives taking place in the industry.
Taking place from 29-30 September at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Nottingham, the conference, entitled ‘Delivering the message’, will also see the presentation of the National Food and Drink Health and Safety Awards.
Speakers include:
- Ken Clarke, Conservative MP for Rushcliffe;
- Alastair Mitchell, HM Inspector of Health and Safety, Agriculture and Food sector, HSE;
- Xabier Irastorza, project officer, Risk Observatory Unit, European Agency for Safety and Health at Work;
- Martin Worthington, SHE director, Morgan Ashurst; and
- John Nevitt, group health and safety manager, Tulip.
Topics to be covered at the conference include communicating with migrant and vulnerable workers, training managers and supervisors, health surveillance and screening, interacting with contractors, and behavioural safety.
