CPD- How a CSR approach can benefit your business
Corporate social responsibility (CSR) has been around as a recognised discipline for decades — but how many people really understand what it’s all about, and how it can benefit their business?
CSR and the triple bottom line — an approach for health and safety practitioners is a continuing professional development (CPD) course for health, safety and environment professionals, and other managers aiming to increase the social, environmental and economic benefits of CSR to their organisations. The two-day course will take place on 10-11 December at IOSH.
By attending you’ll understand the relationship of CSR to health and safety, environmental management, sustainability and ethical trading, and how it can benefit your organisation. You’ll also learn how to develop a CSR programme by looking at case studies from organisations such as Coca-Cola, Nike and The Body Shop, and find out about the key reporting standards and principles associated with CSR and how to use them.
The course is run by Stephen Asbury and Richard Ball. Stephen is a chartered safety and health practitioner (CFIOSH), a chartered environmentalist (CEnv), chair of the IOSH Professional Committee and managing director of Corporate Risk Systems Limited. Richard is a chartered safety and health practitioner (CMIOSH), a full member of IEMA (MIEMA), and is the head of environment of Corporate Risk Systems.
Stephen and Richard are the authors of IOSH’s book Do the Right Thing — the practical, jargon-free guide to corporate social responsibility. Visit www.iosh.co.uk/books to read more about the book.
Places are still available for this course and IOSH members get a discounted rate of £390 + VAT; for non-members the fee will be £440 + VAT. To find out more, or to book your place, please contact the Professional Development team on 0116 257 3197, or email [email protected]
