Council elections- Heading to the polls
A General Election will not be the only time that IOSH members go to the polls this year because you will also need to elect some new members of Council.
Twelve new members will be elected to join Council after the AGM in November and will serve for three years. The 12 will consist of nine corporate members (chartered fellow, retired fellow, chartered member, retired member) and three non-corporate members (graduate member, technician member, affiliate member, honorary fellow).
Members retiring from Council this year and who are eligible for re-election are:
- Susannah Aptowitzer
- Roy Featherstone
- Nattasha Freeman
- Subash Ludhra
- Malcolm McIntyre
- Vince McNeilly
- Stephen Mills
- Paul Parry
- Paul Reeve
Two of the retiring members, Stephen Asbury and Bryan Toone, have served continuously on Council for 12 years and are not eligible to stand this year. However, Stephen Asbury is chairman of the Professional Committee and will remain on Council while he continues in that role.
There is one electoral college, and candidates can be proposed by either two members, or a branch or group. Nomination forms are available from the chief executive’s office on +44 (0)116 257 3110 and must be completed and returned by noon on Friday, 28 May.煠
