NEBOSH announce new Chair
Former civil servant, Rob Hull, joins with experience in education, training and charitable organisations and will drive new strategy.
Rob Hull has been announced as the new Chair of NEBOSH and will take up the post this month (July).

Rob Hull has experience in education and training policy
Following a civil service career that encompassed national education and training policy, including qualifications and occupational standards, Hull held a range of non-executive roles in education and training organisations. He was Chair of Islington Giving in London until 2021, an initiative that brought together charitable foundations, businesses, housing associations and other stakeholders to tackle social problems arising from poverty and inequality. Currently he is Chair of the New City College Group in the UK.
Commenting on his appointment, he said: “The health and safety profession is a particularly vital one. The people within it are dedicated to safeguarding the wellbeing of others and I am excited to be part of this special community…More people in more countries should be able to work safely each and every day; I hope that my experience in education, training and charities, along with expertise in quality and governance, will advance us closer to our vision of a safe and healthy world of work.”
The Chair is expected to lead the Board working alongside the leadership team to enhance NEBOSH’s position in the global health and safety profession. Hull will also align with newly appointed Chief Executive Andy Shenstone to guide the development of a new strategy, built around educational excellence, rigorous standards, collaboration and an enhanced social purpose programme.
