Fire-safety course
According to Vulcan Fire Training Co Ltd, there are now more prosecutions under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order against organisations that have failed to comply with its requirements.
The company points out that under the RRO, organisations must appoint a competent person to act as fire manager, and admits that in the current economic climate it could be most cost-effective for employers to train their own staff in fire risk assessment.
Vulcan Fire Training says its fire-safety courses ensure that delegates leave the training session equipped to use the knowledge gained productively in the workplace. It adds that experienced health and safety practitioners who thought they knew about fire safety often comment that they did not realise how much they had to learn.
