Consultation – Fire safety- National Occupational Standards under review
Fire and rescue services in both the public and private sector, plus those practitioners responsible for fire safety in the workplace, act tirelessly to create safer communities, so it is important to ensure that the individuals who work within these environments are equipped with the right skills, at the right levels, to enable them to be productive, effective and efficient. The NOS are reviewed at timely intervals to take account of changes in the sector, current or emerging legislation, and new approaches to NOS development. New draft NOS are now available for comment from those working in the area. The purpose of this consultation is to give UK fire and rescue sector regulators, fire safety practitioners, and key stakeholders the opportunity to provide their feedback on the NOS.The consultation is being run by Skills for Justice and closes on 18 December. The proposals are at www.skillsforjustice.com/template01.asp?pageid=616
