Fire safety: Grenfell author to speak at Tall Buildings Conference
Peter Apps, Author of Show Me the Bodies – How We Let Grenfell Happen, will open the Tall Buildings Fire Safety Conference.
Apps’ book tells the account of the events leading up to the Grenfell fire – it won the Orwell Prize in 2023.
The topic has been the subject of recent news after the final Grenfell Tower Inquiry report was published in September this year, spotlighting a system of dishonesty and error in management and safety leading up to the fire.
Apps joins speakers at the conference covering areas such as façade testing, tall timber, evacuation of people with mobility impairment, fire risk assessment and firefighting.
Russ Timpson, Conference Director of the three-day event commented: “[I’m] Really delighted with the conference programme. We have a very strong line up of subject expert speakers.
“The varied subject matter at the conference is deliberate so we can explore as many relevant subjects as possible.”
Tall Buildings Conference will run between 2-4 December alongside Anticipate London – an event focused on people and property safety, including Safety and Health Expo. For more information click here.
