Evacuation for the mobility-impaired – Escape Mobility Company
Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, Escape Mobility Company (formerly Van Leeuwen Companies) says it continues to develop itself as a specialist in evacuation products and equipment for transporting people in buildings.
With a range of evacuation chairs, mattresses and carry chairs, the company says it is often asked by customers to be their sole supplier for evacuation products, first-aid and emergency-response equipment.
Escape Mobility Company supplies several evacuation chairs under the Escape-Chair® brand, which is designed to evacuate mobility-impaired individuals via stairs, in a sitting position. The chairs are also said to help reduce the risk of musculoskeletal injuries among those assisting the mobility-impaired.
The company also offers a range of Escape-Mattress® models. These evacuation and patient-transfer solutions are said to enable people with mobility problems to be moved in a horizontal position to another location. The company highlights how its Stretcher model, for example, is suitable for use by ambulance-service workers to move patients.
According to the firm, if it is not possible to get to the patient with a standard ambulance stretcher, the Escape-Mattress® Stretcher can be folded out into a mattress, which can be dragged by towing straps at the ends. The mattress and patient can then be lifted on to the stretcher.
Escape Mobility Company says it is also working with fire and rescue services to make their jobs easier.
