This webinar bought to you by Barbour EHS was hosted by Heather Beach of The Health Work Company, Martin Coyd of Mace and Clare Forshaw from HSE and looked at how to incorporate or improve mental health and wellbeing in your organisations safety culture.
There is often a taboo placed on mental health within the workplace but it should be no different than treating a common physical condition, as well as being something that can be openly discussed with your peers. The three experts are actively trying to bring about this change in the industry.
Heather Beach looked at organisations she is working with and how they are tackling mental health in the workplace.
Martin Coyd who is a leading light in the promotion of good mental health both in construction and sport, and has been an early adopter of Mental Health First Aid, Martin spoke about why a focus on mental health is important for any organisation, his journey into understanding this area and why education and leadership is a key part of any mental health strategy.
Clare Forshaw made the case for a preventative approach; ensuring we use training and feedback opportunities to better understand the risk factors for stress and therefore improve mental health at work.
