PPE manufacturer gains management-systems accreditation
Respiratory and personal protective equipment manufacturer Scott Health and Safety has been accredited to OHSAS 18001.
The company was awarded the accreditation following an external audit, which was conducted by the BSE, at the firm’s manufacturing and customer-services facility at Skelmersdale, Lancashire.
OHSAS 18001 is an internationally recognised assessment for health and safety management systems, and Scott says it demonstrates the company’s commitment to reducing workplace accidents and to providing a safe workplace.
Operations director Rob Water said: “We are delighted to have achieved the OHSAS 18001 standard. It proves the systems we have in place for managing occupational health and safety will ensure that we reduce any risks to our employees and stay in compliance with legislation. We have invested both time and money in developing training programmes and robust management systems, and now Scott Health and Safety is leading the way in operational excellence and corporate responsibility.”
