Tool aims to keep users PPE compliant

An online protective garment selector tool now allows users to search for PPE by hazard or industry, say its makers DuPont.

DuPont explain that users of its SafeSPECTM tool are able to search for suitable DuPont™ Tyvek® and Tychem® protective garments by brand, fabric, chemical, design, Type and standard. 360-degree images are available and SafeSPEC™ also offers users direct access to all relevant garment specification information, including data on barrier performance, sizing and packaging details.

The company add that its online tool, first launched in 2014, now provides advanced product selector tools that aim to further help simplify the garment selection process, not only by allowing searches by specific hazard or industry activity but with a new personalised service called Active Assistance, where a team of product experts can help those facing a more demanding range of hazards or are unsure of their specific requirements.

DuPont highlight further options that have been added, including information on where to buy garments and also a sign-up service that automatically informs registered users of any changes to the DuPont product range.

“By offering information in a clear and accessible manner, we’ve endeavoured to make the garment selection process efficient and worry-free”, said Valerie Pierret, EMEA marketing manager for Tyvek® and Tychem® garments. “SafeSPEC™ is an example of our commitment to providing user-focused tools to help our customers select the most appropriate garment for their protection needs, keeping people safe in their working environments.”
