LED signs aim to address driving risks

Vehicle-activated signs are an effective, high visibility solution to encourage and promote good driving at large industrial and workplace sites, say UK LED sign and display manufacturer Messagemaker.

The company say their vehicle activated (VAS) signs can display maximum speed warnings, or symbols can be combined with personalised messages, including ‘SLOW DOWN’ or a thank you or smiley face to reward responsible driving.

Activated by an internally-mounted radar, Messagemaker say their VAS signs are available in a range of sizes and shapes, and flashing yellow warning indictors, speed cameras, turn ahead and other special layouts are also available. The unit’s in-built programming functionality allows speed limits to be set to activate as required, for added flexibility, adds the firm.

The Messagemaker VAS range also feature a vandal resistant all-weather lockable outer case, says the company, adding that slimline LED technology allows for mounting on existing power/lighting columns. A solar powered unit is also available for those looking for an environmentally friendly or remote solution, they add.

According to the company, the range can help address risks in various locations, including large commercial sites, industrial and research parks, warehousing premises and logistics sites. More public areas can also pose a risk, including educational facilities, retail parks, and car parks, says the firm.
