Chemical hand protection

The ALTO PLUS 260 glove is designed to protect workers’ hands from chemical exposure, which makers from Mapa Professionnel say were developed in co-operation with their client LM Wind Power, who manufacture and supply wind turbine blades.

Mapa Professionnel says the glove ensures a high level of protection against chemical products such as polyester resin. Explains Marie-Ariel Bouchez, Mapa Professionnel Business Development Manager: “Made with natural latex, the ALTO PLUS 260 is reinforced and thicker – 0.8mm – than the version we initially developed. With the Alto Plus 260, one can tackle all composite manufacturing operations in contact with resin, such as hand layup laminating and molding projection’’.

Other features of the glove highlighted by Mapa Professionnel include:

  • a good permeation time
  • a combination of dexterity with flexibility and comfort
  • a good perspiration absorption, due to the cotton flock-lining.

The makers hope several sectors may be interested in the product, including automotive, aeronautics, boat building and sports equipment.
