Well done – Rewarding the Responsible
The Chemical Business Association (CBA) announced the winners of its annual Responsible Care Awards at its annual lunch on 29 April.
The Awards cover three categories of company, which reflect the range of the CBA’s membership: office-only businesses; companies with operating sites; and businesses providing logistics services.
Winner in the office-only category was Zenteum Ltd, which was recognised for its promotion of Responsible Care at every level of its business – from the commitment of its senior managers to its focus on training, continuous improvement, supply-chain communications, and community interaction.
Alcohols Ltd took home the Award for companies managing operational sites. The CBA said the company has shown its commitment to local schools by its sponsorship of a chemistry education initiative, as well as its wider community involvement.
The Award for Logistics Services was presented to the industrial division of DHL Supply Chain, which also won the overall CBA Responsible Care Award. The firm was recognised for its company-wide safety campaign, which resulted in a consistent reduction in its accident and injury levels.
