Atex compliance – BSI offering ATEX support and certification services

The British Standards Institution (BSI) says it now offers a range of ATEX support and certification services to facilitate achieving ATEX compliance for products intended to be used in explosive atmospheres, or Ex compliance via the IECEx scheme for markets outside Europe.

Its services include design advice, pre-assessment of products to ensure they are ready for full assessment, type testing, certification, and storage of the data used to substantiate conformity claims. At every stage of the process, support is available from the BSI technical team.

To provide the most responsive testing service possible, BSI works in partnership with TRaC (Testing Regulatory and Compliance) Laboratories. The latter’s UKAS-accredited ATEX test laboratory combined with BSI’s Notified Body status for ATEX, independent certification integrity and international reputation, guarantees, says BSI, that the service clients receive is delivered to the highest levels of confidence, recognition and reliability worldwide.
