No one yet has linked actual construction work to poor MH. There are a lot of people who happen to work construction who have committed suicide, but the link to the work has not been made – not even by the ONS! Main causes of suicide are low economic status, long-term ill-health, family history of suicide, divorce and separation from kids. None of these are specific to construction! Some say job insecurity and itinerant life-style May play a part. The construction industry has been so since it began. It would be interesting to back over the stats for the past… Read more »

And today we learn the construction industry has had a 12 percent increase in fatalities in 2017/8. The construction industry needs to focus on eliminating serious injuries and fatalities NOT MH
