Allianz Insurance appoints new health and safety manager

Allianz Insurance has appointed Diana Salmon as the company’s new health, safety and wellbeing manager.

Diana Salmon, Allianz Insurance

Ms Salmon joins Allianz Insurance from Radian, where she managed their health, safety and wellbeing function across nine counties in the South of England.

She holds an MSc in workplace health and organisational culture, a NEBOSH Diploma in occupational safety and health, is a chartered fellow of the Institute of Safety and Health and a member of the Institute of Risk and Safety Management.

She will be responsible for the health, safety and wellbeing portfolio for Allianz Insurance including working with safety officers, occupational health and Allianz’s own wellbeing champions.

The role also includes managing health and safety training provisions, maintaining documentation such as the corporate risk register and regular reporting to the management board.

Allianz Insurance is one of the largest insurers in the UK and part of the Allianz Group.

“We’re delighted to welcome Diana to the business. As a responsible employer and of course an insurance company, the three strands to the job are crucial. I look forward to working with her and am confident that she’ll bring much to the role,” said Senior HR Manager, Steve Tickle.

Earlier this month, Allianz UK announced it had reached the fundraising target of £1million for the company’s charity partner, Air Ambulances UK.

To help raise the money, Allianz’s employees across the UK, have abseiled down buildings, taken part in Monster Triathlons, took the Jurassic Coast challenge over the hottest weekend of the year, and held on tight during a 100mph zip-wire ride – all to raise money and support the vital work of Air Ambulances UK.

“Thanks to all the fundraising efforts and generosity of our employees, we have raised £1million for Air Ambulances UK. This fantastic achievement has made a real impact on local communities,” said Allianz UK Chief Executive, Jon Dye.

“Over the last three years it’s been great to see so many Allianz employees getting involved in various fundraising activities, I even had the ‘pleasure‘ of abseiling down our office in Guildford!”
