BOHS announces Occupational Hygiene 2016 with call for papers

BOHS, the Chartered Society for Worker Health Protection, has announced details of its annual conference, Occupational Hygiene 2016 (OH2016), issuing a call for papers for the prestigious event which will take place from 26 to 28 April 2016 at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow.

OH2016 is an international conference focussing on occupational hygiene and the prevention of occupational ill-health and disease.

The event builds on the success of the 10th International Scientific Conference of the International Occupational Hygiene Association (IOHA) which took place in April 2015 in London and brought together a global audience of over 700 delegates.

During the 2016 conference in Glasgow, BOHS says it will be delivering a programme which combines inspiring and thought-leading plenary sessions with scientific and technical sessions as well as a range of interactive workshops and case studies.

The conference will bring together researchers, practitioners, regulators and other experts from around the world to the city of Glasgow in order to discuss the very latest in issues that affect health at work.

As the submission process for abstracts for OH2016 opened, BOHS pledged to develop even further the high quality of previous conferences by giving delegates the content they have asked for.

The Society says practical workshops and case studies are always popular and so prospective presenters are strongly encouraged to consider this when submitting papers.

Papers are welcomed on any aspect of occupational hygiene, worker health protection and occupational or environmental health. The closing date for the submission of abstracts is 12 October 2015 and notification of acceptance will be during November 2015.

Announcing the call for papers, Dr Adrian Hirst, President of BOHS, said, “IOHA2015 was a great success and we intend to use the excellent feedback we received from delegates to enable us to strategically sharpen our focus for OH2016. Our annual conference in the vibrant Scottish city of Glasgow will feature a very practical emphasis, in order to offer the high quality, insightful content that delegates need. We look forward to receiving a wide range of interesting papers which reflect these aims in the context of the evolution of worker health protection in the UK and around the world.”
