Training has never been so real

Traditional training methods (classroom and eLearning) are at scale costly, time-consuming and increasingly ineffective in engaging the learner, as well as under dellivering in post-training performance analysis.

At MOONHUB, we are convinced that through the power of Virtual Reality, we can change this.

MOONHUB’s mission is to empower and better equip the global workforce while providing a cost-effective solution to our partners.

MOONHUB designs low-risk, highly immersive VR training programmes co-curated with our partners, for our partners.

VR transforms learning by focusing on environmental preparation aimed at honing technical skills and heightening cognitive awareness.

Traditional training is broken

Traditional training methods such as eLearning and classroom-based are proven to have a lower engagement rate with little to no active interaction in the workplace.

For this reason, learners are less likely to adapt to real-life scenarios, leaving less room for potential and growth, whereas VR training is far more effective and rewarding due to its immersiveness and adaptability. Learners then demonstrate higher levels of focus, engagement and commitment to learning.

Our VR training has many advantages including its ability to let learners transform their surroundings into typical work-life scenarios. Learners are 3.75 times more emotionally connected to the content than classroom learners and 2.3 times more than e-learners. Immersing users in a full-on sensory and emotive experience, VR has the power to appeal to our humanity and activate a greater sense of empathy.

To add on, new learners who were trained through VR were 275% more confident to apply new skills – 40% more than e-learners and classroom-based learners.

Accessibility is the name of the game

Our MOONHUB VR training can make learning more accessible for a wide and diverse audience by offering several benefits over traditional in-person training methods.

One of the main benefits of MOONHUB’s training is that it allows learners to experience immersive, interactive simulations of real-world environments in a safe environment. This makes learning more engaging and helps learners to better retain and understand new information.

Our VR training can also be designed to be self-paced, allowing learners to progress at their own pace and revisit content as and when needed. In addition, our VR training is flexible and can be accessed from anywhere, making it more convenient for learners who may have busy schedules or who may be located in remote areas.

This can make it easier for learners to fit training into their lives, which can be particularly beneficial for those who may face challenges in accessing traditional training opportunities.

Finally, VR training can be more inclusive than in-person training, as it can be designed to be accessible to people with a range of physical abilities, learning styles, and language backgrounds. This can make it easier for learners from diverse backgrounds to participate and learn effectively.

What we have learned

Training for professionals comes in many different guises—which means it also varies substantially in cost.

E-learning modules are an example of a cost-effective and scalable solution but are limited by the lack of situational exposure. It can also be far less engaging and a hindrance in retaining the knowledge if applied later.

Face-to-face scenario training solves these problems but is very costly.

For example, in a case study with our partners, we calculated that the cost of sending every Corps Security officer to a three-day annual face-to-face training programme would be approximately £800,000 in trainee salaries alone. On top of this cost are venue fees, equipment, transport and instructors.

In comparison, we saved Corps Security over 80% of training costs for the year.

In collaboration with Professor Claire Surr, the Leeds Beckett University and our partners Anglian Care, we have launched an initial pilot study. While the study is still ongoing, early findings suggest that our VR training is viewed very positively by staff completing it.

95% of participants were either satisfied or very satisfied with the Dementia Care VR training overall, with 72% of participants reporting they have learned more with VR training compared to other previous training methods.

We currently operate with partners in the healthcare, hospitality, security, and facility management sector, empowering trainees in first-responding and customer front-facing roles with a proven track record of increasing cognitive awareness, on-the-job knowledge and confidence.

Why you should visit us

At the Safety & Health Expo, MOONHUB is unveiling four new VR training titles for its essential workplace library: Workplace Well-Being, Manual Handling, Health & Safety and Fire Awareness.

Employers understand the importance of supporting mental health and well-being, but deploying impactful programs is becoming increasingly complex.

Co-curated with leading Well-Being & Performance Coach Carmanah MacKenzie, our virtual reality Workplace Well-Being training offers a safe and supportive environment where users can explore, practice and learn effective methods to manage stress, anxiety, and other mental health issues.

Through our highly immersive and interactive 360 environments, users can gain a deeper understanding of their mental health, as well as receive personalized advice and tips on how to best manage their symptoms, and learn to live a happier and healthier life.

Companies are systemically reviewing and rethinking their approaches to Health & Safety training and realising that many aspects can be taught more effectively and economically virtually. Manual handling is one of the most common causes of workplace injuries, and yet it is often one of the most overlooked areas when it comes to Health and Safety. Everyone in a workplace is responsible for Fire Safety and has a duty to familiarise themselves with fire safety measures.

Developed by forward-thinking H&S professional Amy Stillwell-Cox, MOONHUB’s Safety training trio simulates real-world scenarios and provides interactive feedback to ensure your team is fully prepared to handle any situation. With our industry-standard approach to safety training, your team will have the knowledge and skills necessary to keep your workplace safe and compliant.

Transform your organisation’s learning programme. Empower your staff with cutting-edge VR technology. Immerse yourself in the future at MOONHUB’s stand SH2024.

We promise you that training has never been more real.
