24/7 safety app protects homeworkers from risk

The Office of National Statistics reported that the proportion of people working from home more than doubled during the pandemic.

SoloProtect Mobile - NewsAnd many workers have settled into life working at home and either have no plans to return to the office or are adopting a hybrid approach.

With employers having the same health and safety responsibilities towards homeworkers as they do on-site workers (as stated by HSE), this presents a challenge for anyone who manages people as part of their role.

It’s important to remember that homeworkers are also lone workers. So how can you demonstrate duty of care and ensure their safety and wellbeing is protected?

A safety app can help homeworkers feel safer and less alone

The SoloProtect personal safety app is designed to help your homeworkers feel more secure and less alone during their working day.

If an incident were to occur on-site, such as an act of aggression; a slip, trip or fall; an injury; or an unexpected health issue, there would be colleagues available to step in to help. However, for those who are working from home (or remotely in another location), SoloProtect steps in to provide the assistance required. The app user is reassured that SoloProtect will be available to support them and ensure the quickest possible response.

How does the app work?

Via the app, the user can activate an emergency “Red Alert” quickly and easily. This opens a call with SoloProtect’s Monitoring Centre where specially trained operators will listen in to the situation, locate the user using geolocation technology, and initiate an appropriate response such as calling the police, ambulance, and/or a colleague or family member.

Furthermore, the app features automatic fall detection and, from a business continuity perspective, managers can easily send valuable Risk Messages to app users to notify them of an imminent danger e.g. terrorist threat, gas leak, traffic issues etc.

Take a 24/7 approach to safety

But SoloProtect Mobile can be just as useful outside of working hours. Some employers are taking a 24/7 approach and encouraging workers to use it at any time of day or night. This sends a positive message that you, as an employer, are going above and beyond to look after the safety and wellbeing of your staff.

Competition: Win a 3-month FREE trial and an iPad Mini

One of these 3 winners will also win an iPad Mini.

The mobile app trial applies to a maximum of 20 users within your organisation. It’s, therefore, a fantastic opportunity for 20 colleagues to experience the benefits of a personal safety solution, first-hand.
