Crisis management guidance issued for fleet managers

A guidance report on crisis management for fleet managers and HR professionals has been published by the road safety charity, Brake.

The report, pubilshed in collaboration with Kennedys follows a series of successful ‘Crisis response training for managers’ seminars, which covered practical and procedural issues around a crisis event involving sudden death or serious injury.

Drawing knowledge from best practice case studies, the guidance highlights the importance of having an established crisis management plan in the event of a serious incident.  The guidance also focuses on what should be included in an effective management strategy.

The guidance includes expert input from specialist disaster management trainer, Rosie Murray, who has extensive experience in delivering crisis response training to police Family Liaison Officers, local authority staff and commercial companies.

Content within this guidance report also includes an overview of the complications that can arise following a serious road traffic incident, and the importance of communication and implementing a support system for everyone affected.

Radd Seiger, partner at Kennedys and expert in serious incident and crisis management, draws on his knowledge of representing UK and multinational companies in some of the UK’s worst disasters to add his golden rules for crisis management.

This new resource is available free of charge to all Brake Professional members through www.brakepro.org, and is available for non-members to purchase from the Brake shop.
