Safety Network Live 2016: round up

Safety Network Live has been praised as a ‘fantastic’ event by attendees, after the science-based technology company 3M made it bigger and better for its second year.

This year’s event was held on two days at two different locations and attracted around 120 like-minded health and safety professionals, who enjoyed a range of informative seminars and interactive sessions.

Highlights from the event included an eye-opening talk from Rob Archer, a director at LPP Consulting, who educated the audience on how to build resilience and an enthralling seminar from Productivity Ninja, Grace Marshall.

Other sessions also focused on fit testing respirators and fall protection, while both days finished with a Q&A session involving health and safety specialists from 3M.

Feedback from the event, which is partnered with SHP, has been incredibly positive, with attendees requesting that Safety Network Live returns for a third year in 2017.

The event launched last year to mark the first anniversary of 3M’s Safety Network, which is a website that gives professionals access to health and safety expertise at the click of a button.

The idea of the live shows was to bring together its interactive online community of health and safety professionals under one roof to share their expertise and knowledge in person.

Following the success of its first year, 3M decided to make it even bigger in 2016 by hosting it at two venues – 3M’s headquarters in Bracknell and Old Trafford in Manchester – so attendees from all over the country could make the most of the resources on offer.

Event organiser Andy Pearson, a marketing executive at 3M, said: “We are delighted with the success of this year’s Safety Network Live event. To make it more accessible, we hosted the event at the two different venues and this led to more than double the number of attendees coming along.

“There were some really fantastic seminars for people to choose from and there was plenty of engagement throughout both of the days.”

He added: “Once again, we would like to thank SHP for their continued support.”
