SafeTea Break campaign launched to engage employees on health

SafeTea BreakAn innovative campaign designed to engage employees in discussions about workplace health has been launched by diversified technology company 3M.

The company has launched the SafeTea Break initiative, developed in partnership with Safety Groups UK, which is putting a new spin on traditional tea breaks designed to engage employees in discussions about workplace health.

The initiative aims to encourage health and safety managers to make the most of short periods during the day to educate staff on health topics and long latency diseases.

Those who sign up to download their free SafeTea Break pack will gain access to an invaluable toolbox, which comes complete with questions that will make employees really think about key health risks at work that could have an impact on their breathing, hearing, touch, skin or on their muscles, bones and joints.

As health and safety managers are often short of time and resources, 3M says that SafeTea Break is the perfect tool to engage with the workforce efficiently, while ensuring worthwhile impact. Companies can use the questions provided to open debate on health topics with their team and encourage staff to discuss any barriers to reduce risk in the workplace.

With the number of health problems caused while at work in the UK on the rise, 3M is devoted to reducing risk to workers across all industries. SafeTea Break does this by identifying potential problems and educating staff.

So far, the content for the campaign has already been accessed more than 450 times.

Adele Wills, senior marketing executive at 3M, said: “We are very excited about SafeTea Break and we have already seen a great response to the content. When trying to improve health in the workplace, it is vital employees are educated and involved throughout the entire process.

“SafeTea Break gives health and safety managers a fantastic platform to engage their workforce in these important topics. The open ended questions about risks at work that could have an impact upon their health will create discussions and also encourage employees to ask questions of their own.”
