Training - RRC in Bahrain

07 December 2011

The first course for supervisors in Bahrain has just been successfully completed by 13 first-line supervisors from Gulf Petrochemical Industrial Complex (GPIC).

The safety practitioner course, run by RRC Training Middle East, trained supervisors from all disciplines within GPIC to enable them to understand and practise their responsibilities as required by Bahrain Labour Law and the company’s internal health and safety management system.

Hasan Alaradi, MD of RRC Middle East, explained: “A culture of ‘not my responsibility’ towards health and safety was obvious among line supervisors, even though they had the best policies and procedures in place. Supervisors needed to become more active and have a key role in the implementation of these policies and procedures.”

The course, which covered the NEBOSH health and safety at work syllabus, focused on classroom theory but also included practical accident investigation and risk assessment exercises.
