Training - NEBOSH international construction certificate03 November 2010
NEBOSH reports that the number of its overseas exam candidates rose by 17 per cent last year, with growth particularly strong in Asia and Africa. Much of this growth, says the examination body, has emerged in the global construction industry, with many international candidates, up until now, seeking to achieve the NEBOSH International General Certificate. Now, NEBOSH has used the framework of the UK’s National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety to create its new International Construction Certificate. The new Certificate is based on ILO construction health and safety standards instead of British law, which means it can be applied anywhere. Teresa Budworth, NEBOSH chief executive, commented: “Construction work leads to far too many deaths worldwide every year. We hope our qualification will help raise health and safety standards wherever the industry operates.” For more details, visit www.nebosh.org.uk |
