Protective clothing - Arco hi-vis workwear range

24 November 2010

Arco says its new hi-vis workwear range, which incorporates own-label garments, is branded to offer a simple three-tier system:

  • Arco – a traditional hi-vis range that conforms to EN471;
  • Element II – a waterproof, breathable Gore- Tex® range conforming to EN471 and with GO/RT certification; and
  • Tectiv – a polyester/cotton range of flameretardant garments offering anti-static qualities, as well as GO/RT certification).

Customers can pick and mix garments from across the different ranges to provide the most suitable protection, e.g. mixing washable polyester/cotton garments from the Arco-branded range with breathable and waterproof garments from the Element II range.

Including a jacket, coverall and trousers, the Tectiv range is said to combine washable polycotton with orange hi-vis and GO/RT certification. These garments benefit from a Teflon finish, as well as handy pockets.

Research by Arco revealed that the location of hi-vis tape on the knees would reflect sunlight and create glare that could be dangerous to the wearer when sitting in cabs. As a result, the tape has been moved away from the knee, but the garment is still said to conform to the standard.
