North Shields-based Advanced Industrial Solutions (AIS) has designed the Fire Pro jacket, comprising 13 layers of specialist fire-resistant material, primarily for the offshore industry.

At 59mm deep, Fire Pro is said to be two to three times thinner than alternative fire-protection systems, making it easier to fit and transport. AIS adds that it has an operating capability of -60ºC to 1350ºC and it is also the only flexible fire-resistant insulation solution certified to both ISO 22899-1 and OTI 95634.

AIS says the jacket will be used to provide jet-fire and hydrocarbon-fire protection for ESDV valves, actuators and associated equipment primarily on offshore platforms. MD Paul Stonebanks (pictured) adds: “Creating an innovative jacketing system that can withstand the highest temperatures is a great achievement for us and one that we are very proud of.”
